Until the current period or until the last 30 years, it was conventional wisdom, both in science and theology, we’re alone in the universe; a single repository of life anywhere in the known universe. Well, no one believes that anymore. Out of the Blue presents unexplained cases from around the world, investigates 50 years of official contradictions and denials, and puts forth possible reasons for secrecy.
The film also examines scientific theories regarding interstellar travel and discusses the current movement for official disclosure on the subject of UFOs – a subject that has been considered by most government officials to be unworthy of serious investigation. UFOs and the Military – In 1964, former U.S. Air Force Lt. Bob Jacobs was in the 13-69th photo squadron at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. His mission was to film an Atlas Rocket going through all three stages of powered flight. Upon developing the film it was discovered that the camera captured something unexpected. According to Jacobs, when the rocket was traveling between 11,000 and 14,000 miles per hour, a saucer-shaped craft entered the frame.

Salem's Lot
I was 9 in 1979 when Salem's Lot came out. It was a made for TV mini-series. There was a huge build up to the master vampire Kurt Barlow, which made it even spookier. I remember it quite well, and got a big kick out of that movie. Some of the best scenes in the movie are shown below, but I recommend watching the entire movie if you have not seen it.

Go full screen and play this 1080p version of the film from 1979
DavidSoul.com you can find autographed photos from Salem's Lot there.
David Soul helped to build the suspense in this movie. He is a great actor and is also a part of why Salem's Lot stands out among horror films. Listen to David Soul discuss Salem’s Lot on its 42nd Anniversary, on November 17, 2021.
I remember my dad laughing when Barlow came out, and mom gasping for air, exclaiming 'geez!'. The movie has lots of suspense, and I laughed as dad scared the hell out of my sister as we lay on the floor watching. There were no CGI computer graphics in 1979, however, Barlow's costume was very good and it still provides a reasonably good scare today.
Many movies today fail to focus on suspense and the build up of fear, in exchange for computer graphics, and short attention spans, which of course does not always make a good movie. Horror movie producers from today could re-learn some things from Salem's Lot.
I also love the scene shown below where an adulterous Larry Crocket meets the angry husband by surprise and is told to put a shotgun in his mouth. You can watch the entire movie on YouTube as well, but it's the slimmed down version. Or, if you are really ambitious, you could go and purchase the movie also.
Two versions of the shotgun scene were filmed for the TV miniseries Salem's Lot. In one version, George Dzundra tells Fred Willard to put the gun in front of his face. In this version, Willard is told to put the gun in his mouth. This was seen as too intense for television in 1979 (where the former version was shown), but was included in the two-hour version released in cinemas outside the US.
The YouTube clip below shows the Barlow scenes in the Stephen King movie, which of course was based on the book that I read a few years later as a teenager. Stephen King wrote Salem's Lot in 1975. Books are always better, but I do not like the talking, humanistic vampire as was in the book. The way Barlow is portrayed in this movie as more animalistic, with no human emotion, is far scarier in my opinion. So if you have never seen this movie, you may not want to watch these clips as they will give away some of the best scenes right away.
You're doing fine, Larry, just fine. DONT MOVE DONT MOVE

I am a fan of exorcism movies that specialize in realism, or even exaggerate a bit. This movie is not one of them. The original Exorcist movie for example, injects some realism on the religious end, and nicely exaggerates the possession itself. It is possible, watching the Exorcist, to suspend your disbelief for short time and enjoy the movie. In fact, the exorcist can scare you with its believability. Not so with Anneliese: The Exorcist Tapes.
Anneliese: The Exorcist Tapes is a horrible movie which does a major disservice to the real event that did happen in 1975 - 1976. The movie begins with some of the real tape recordings itself, which will get your hopes up that you are about to watch a true account of what actually happened. It tries and miserably fails to re-tell the story of what happened to Anneliese. The 'movie' is completely unwatchable, and a ridiculous attempt at any sort of realism at all. I am pretty sure I have never seen worse acting in my life by the complete unknowns that are involved here.
I have seen some other reviews and comments on this abomination, who also find the film a complete disappointment. Expect to hear lines such as "that was some pretty trippy shit". An extremely ignorant line for an event that happened in the 1970's. And also, this classic line; "Well..........she looks......for lack of a better term, pretty fucked up." This moronic film looks like it was shot on a camera phone, with a $150 budget.
The "found film" genre movies, have got to be the worst kind of garbage out there, that is wrapped up, and somehow called "entertainment". "Found films similar to this movie are Cloverfield, Paranormal Activity, Asylum, and The Last Exorcist. I personally find this genre of movie extremely annoying and unreal. Cloverfeild was watchable and mildly entertaining.
What's worse, is that the clowns who made this tragedy are on the internet promoting that they have "found" these recordings. Again, a major disservice to the real event. The Annelise Tapes blogspot is one of a few sites I found regarding this. I attempted to contact the listed email on that page and it is not a valid email. It is just as fake as the movie.
The movie switches between black and white, and faded color, for some unknown reason, in an attempt to show this was being recorded in the upper part of many parts of the house by a recording device that did not exist in 1976.
In short, the movie is an hour and 30 minutes of your life that you will never get back. You will see some breasts at around 38 minutes as she begins to rip her clothes off. Other than that, forget it. This film was dreamed up by a 20 year old somewhere, with no imagination.
Save your money. There is no doubt this will be nominated for one of the top worst films of 2011.
